I'd check your State's modified exhaust and emission laws. In Arizona, no problem (biker friendly). A cat bypass (h-pipe) is the ticket for structural support, increased hp and torque (dynode) imo.

It would take some cutting to get them to work with any of the crossover options.
At a minimum, if you make any changes to the exhaust, you'll want the TOR tune loaded. Might as well add a high flow air filter to help it breath better, too.

Even the gutted cat was restrictive enough to feel a considerable difference. I felt a considerable loss of power when going back to the gutted cat. But the loss was worth not having to listen to that gawd awful racket ! It's loud as hell and harsh with a straight thru scenario in place of the cat. Wiith predators i can;t say. Maybe they will sound less harsh with cat delete than my short tors, i just can't say
However, if you aren't going to run a custom tune I doubt you will notice any improvement in power by deleting the cat. But you'll sure hear it.

I just removed my Cat and installed my own 1-1/2 diameter elbow tubing. I have the long High Flow slip ons from Triumph.
Super glad to get some volume out of my Thunderbird.
It idles just a tad louder, low tones at idle, But a quick throttle rap and it is way louder. Which I like. I feel a bunch safer.
I do get popping when de accelerating, Not too annoying to me, but I think I would rather have that under control just a cleaner sounding bike to me.
Joneswood Did you get any mapping work done yet?
Curious on the results...
